Some Computer Operating Systems-Part 1

The Operating System controls yours computer tasks and it is an interface between hardware and users. One of the main aspects is to handle the details of the operation of the hardware. There are some computer operating systems such as,

DOS:
The original operating system was Microsoft Disk Operating system, or Dos. For IBM Mainframe operating system, it is a single user, Single task operating system with basic kernel functions. Dos also have an upper limit to the size of hard disk partitions. It utilized a command line environment, which was eventually supplanted by windows GUI.

OS/2:
Operating system/2 is a computer operating system, initially created by IBM and Microsoft. It was intended as a protected mode successor of PC-DOS. IBM developed its own GUI-based operating system. OS/2 shared functionalities similarities with the more robust UNIX operating system, while adopting a similar interface to windows. OS/2 was used by radio personality, Auditing companies and Brazilian bank.

UNIX:
Unix OS originally developed by At & T Bell laboratories. It is widely used in both work stations and servers. It was designed to be multi tasking, portable and multi-user in a time sharing configuration. UNIX primary proponents shut in the SCO group, Novell and Sun Micro systems.
